Privacy Policy

Last updated September 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Sheriffguard collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our website, software, and services.

Short version: We collect only the information reasonably necessary to license and operate our software, provide support, process payments through our payment partners, and operate our Anti-Cheat services.

1. Who is responsible for the data

For customer and server owner data, Sheriffguard is generally the data controller. We determine what information is collected and why it is needed to provide our services.

For player data processed through your server, the server owner or operator is generally the data controller, and Sheriffguard acts as a data processor. You choose to use Sheriffguard on your server, and we process relevant technical and detection data to provide the Anti-Cheat service.

You are responsible for providing any notices to your players required by applicable law regarding the use of Anti-Cheat software.

2. What we collect

Customer and account information

We may collect your name, email address, Discord username or account identifier, licence and account information, invoices, payment status or transaction records, registered server identifiers, hardware information, connecting IP addresses, and messages sent to our support team.

Server and player information

We process limited information required to operate the Anti-Cheat, including Minecraft usernames and UUIDs, detection and violation information, relevant detection context, client and protocol information, latency, and basic server information such as server version, platform, domain, and player counts. Certain data required for continuous monitoring may also be processed.

Quote and contact requests

When you contact us or submit a quote request, we may collect your name, email address, server information, player count, and any message you provide.

This information is stored securely and encrypted on our cloud infrastructure and is used only to provide, operate, authorize, and improve our Anti-Cheat services.

3. Payment information

We use third-party payment partners to process payments and may offer different payment methods depending on the available provider.

Sheriffguard does not collect, store, or have access to your full payment card or payment account details. Payment information is handled directly by the payment provider you choose.

We may retain limited transaction information, such as payment status, invoice details, transaction references, or billing records, where necessary to manage your account and meet legal or accounting obligations.

4. What we do not collect

We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.

We do not intentionally collect player chat, private messages, builds, inventories, or unrelated gameplay information unless specific information is technically required for an Anti-Cheat detection or service feature.

5. Why we use information

We use information to:

  • Provide, license, and maintain Sheriffguard.
  • Authorize registered servers and prevent unauthorized use.
  • Detect and investigate cheating.
  • Improve Anti-Cheat detection and service reliability.
  • Provide customer support.
  • Manage invoices, subscriptions, and payment status.
  • Protect our infrastructure and services.
  • Comply with applicable legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

Where applicable data protection laws require a legal basis, we may process information based on contract, legitimate interests, legal obligations, or another lawful basis permitted by applicable law.

6. Who we share information with

We only share information with third parties where necessary to operate our services. This may include cloud and infrastructure providers, payment partners, support and communication platforms, including Discord, and other service providers used to operate Sheriffguard.

Each provider is given access only to information reasonably necessary for its services.

We may also disclose information where required by law or a valid legal process.

7. Where information is stored

Sheriffguard uses multiple cloud and infrastructure providers to operate and store service data.

Our data is primarily processed and stored in data centres located in Asia, although some service providers may process or store information in other regions depending on their infrastructure and services.

Where applicable law restricts international data transfers, we use appropriate safeguards or lawful transfer mechanisms.

8. How long we keep information

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

Detection and technical records may be retained while necessary for security, Anti-Cheat operation, investigations, and service improvement. Account, licence, invoice, and transaction records may be retained while your account is active and afterward where required for legal, tax, accounting, or dispute purposes.

Quote and contact information is retained while necessary to respond to or manage your request.

9. Security and cookies

We use reasonable security measures, including encryption where appropriate, access controls, and secure infrastructure, to protect information. However, no system is completely secure.

Sheriffguard is not specifically directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children outside information transmitted by servers as part of normal Anti-Cheat operation.

Our website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. We may use essential cookies or storage required for the website and services to function.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be published on this page, and the Last updated date will be revised.
